Digital Ambassador Program
The digital Ambassadors Programme is an initiative by Pollicy currently running in selected universities in Uganda and Tanzania. The program seeks to equip young people, in institutions of higher learning, with digital safety skills to take advantage of existing and future digital opportunities through active training, mentorship, convening and networking. Digital Ambassadors will not only build their digital resiliency, but will also serve as resource persons within their communities. Our study in 2020 showed that a majority of people using the internet do not know where to seek information on staying safe online. As such, the Digital Ambassador Program aims at establishing a network for young people who are equipped and skilled with tools and knowledge to share their experiences and knowledge on digital transformation through engaging on different digital safety topics such as dis/misinformation, cyberharassment, secure communication etc.
