In a bid to create awareness, advocate and advance digital rights during the COVID-19 pandemic, the consortium whose members are Pollicy, ARTICLE 19 Eastern Africa, and the Kenya ICT Action Network (KICTANet) are developing and producing engaging yet educative video documentaries based on the research report produced by the consortium highlighting the impact of COVID-19 related surveillance on lives of citizens in Kenya and Uganda. This is because it is apparent that both governments are transforming the purpose and intent of these frameworks into swords for arbitrary government use, instead of shields, for individuals’ personal information protection.
