Irene is our Executive Director. Before that, she was Pollicy’s Strategic Initiatives and Feminist Movement Building with experience in human rights and tech policy. She is an experienced partnership professional with extensive experience with innovative collaborations across public, private, and civil society sectors. Irene structures and executes projects that deliver better policies and legal frameworks on public policy issues such as elections and technology.

Neema is the Founder and Executive Director of Pollicy. She manages the overall operations and resources at Pollicy and acts as the main point for communication between the board and other stakeholders like government entities, etc. She is an active do-er and speaker on data, digital rights and building products to improve service delivery. She is also an artist, both digitally and in the real world. Her first solo exhibition was held in Kampala in June 2018.

Bonnita is the head of the research department at Pollicy Uganda. She oversees the research department including the design of research studies, survey instruments, gathering, and analysis of data into actionable insights to influence service delivery as well as reporting on the findings. She also manages all aspects of quantitative and qualitative research projects. She is also a mentor to junior team members. Bonnita’s area of specialisation is social, behavioral, and public health research.

Cate Kamatu is a communications expert with over 13 years of experience in strategic communication leadership, media planning, communication training, campaigning, and advocacy. Her expertise spans social media and website management, as well as the development of comprehensive communication strategies aimed at advancing the social, economic, digital and political rights of marginalized communities.

Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to leveraging communication as a powerful tool for positive change, driving impactful campaigns and initiatives that make a meaningful difference in people's lives.

She is the Director of Communications at Pollicy, overseeing the implementation of robust and engaging communications strategies for the organization’s projects and research work.

Phillip is the Director of Programmes at Pollicy in charge of overseeing and coordinating the various projects, products and strategic initiatives. He also engages Pollicy’s community to achieve meaningful discourse while building long-term sustainable partnerships. Phillip also oversees the development of innovative strategies that improve grassroot citizen engagement and participation in policy dialogue. He is passionate about voicing issues affecting society’s most vulnerable.

Wanjiku Gathua is the Director of Finance and Operations, extensively tasked with ensuring strategic financial oversight and leadership, providing expert advice and strengthening internal controls. She is also responsible for overseeing administrative, logistical, procurement and human relations functions at Pollicy. At an operational level, her team promotes robust financial and administrative systems and processes that support the Pollicy team in successful implementation of strategic objectives and ensuring overall compliance.
Wanjiku brings a vast progressive experience of over 8 years in the International Not-for-Profit Organization sector, having worked alongside donors, organisations and networks throughout Africa, to shed more light on and improve African experiences. Wanjiku holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from Kenyatta University and is
currently pursuing her master’s degree in project planning and management at the University of Nairobi and, holds several certifications of the same: a passion of hers. She is an avid reader and enjoys lawn tennis.

Varaidzo is a pan African feminist lawyer with a keen interest in programmatic and resourcing sustainability, whose experience and previous engagement in the women’s movement expands from Southern Africa to Eastern Africa. A distinguished leader with experience in human rights and development work and corporate work, her expertise lies in young women's feminist movement building, strategy, governance, compliance and resource mobilization for non-profits and social enterprises. Varaidzo has led and participated in key youth public inclusion advocacy initiatives and feminist research methodology development for enhanced youth responsive programming.

Rachel is a Programs Coordinator under the Feminist Movement Building program at Pollicy. She is a lawyer by profession and holds great experience in legal research, legal writing, alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, and advocating for regional integration in Africa. She engages in project development and implementation at Pollicy, as well as working on digital resilience, and women and youth empowerment. She works to organize and facilitate several programs both physical and virtual, conduct research and assist with legal documentation.

Brenda Namata is the Programs Coordinator Strategic Gender Initiatives and Advocacy at Pollicy. Her knowledge and skills are specially in development communications, gender and media development and social justice agendas to promote gender equality for marginalized groups in society. Brenda has a professional background in strategic communication, journalism, gender and media development. As a passionate Gender Advocate, her strengths and professional achievements in promoting the gender agenda have been demonstrated in various initiatives undertaken both at national, regional and international levels.

Najma Juma is the Program Coordinator for the Feminist Movement Building Program at Pollicy, a testament to her dedication to gender equity and social progress. Through her role, she continues to contribute meaningfully to shaping inclusive narratives and fostering positive change within communities. Najma's unwavering commitment to journalism, combined with her expertise in fact-checking and her fervent advocacy for feminist causes, position her as a dynamic and influential force within the media landscape.

Bridget is the heart and soul of our company as the manager of human resources and operations. Her areas of competence include overseeing the hiring and onboarding procedures, employee relations, policy and handbook development, payroll and employee benefits administration, team building, leading the management of performance tracking systems, and keeping track of HR records and processes. She is an asset to the team because of her dependability, her expertise, and her meticulous organisation. She's committed to advancing gender equality and women's rights, has a background in industrial and organisational psychology, and is currently pursuing her MBA. As a result of the increasing number of hybrid staff members, she currently offers assistance in the aforementioned domains.

Annex is our programs assistant with expertise and experience in administration management, she has in the past worked with the private sector where she supported the operations strand. A Pollicy, she works closely with the team to support the completion of projects efficiently and within budget. She also supports coordination and management of projects, communicating with partners regarding project goals and objectives to all the staff members to fulfill their mandate.She works on event planning and organizing both physical and virtual, preparation of the procurement process, liaison between the employees and the Human resource management to maintain a balance in the organization.

Proscovia is our finance Officer that provides support to the financial department in accomplishment of tasks and activities for the organization on a timely and accurate basis. These include payments processing and bookkeeping, acting as bank agent and compliance to internal controls and policies. She is a CPA student and holds a bachelor's degree in Commerce from MUBS. She has worked with Volcano Gas LTD and Ardenfield CPAs as an auditor. She has vast experience of over 4 years in accounting and is passionate about building a career in the accounting field.

Shallon Atuhaire, our Finance Officer is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Mbarara
University of Science and Technology (MUST) and currently a student of CPA. She has worked with PACE Uganda for three years as a finance assistant where she gained experience in financial management and office administration. Shallon has experience handling various tasks including: management of internal and external audits, posting vendor payments and beyonic payments in QuickBooks Enterprises. She possesses key personality attributes such as respectfulness, Warm and cheerfulness, flexibility, good and effective communication skills, time management, Integrity and good organizational skills.

Bobina is an interdisciplinary Data and Digital Rights researcher at Pollicy. In her work, she currently focuses on researching data governance as well as the development, adoption and deployment of Artificial Intelligence on the African continent and how that particularly affects African women. In this, she specifically tackles issues of ethics, human digital rights, justice, decoloniality, policy, intersectionality and other Afro feminist data and digital ideals.

Bonaventure is our research coordinator who supports the research team in planning, managing, implementation, developing research methodology, liaising with IRB offices, coordinating research activities, external representation etc in order to achieve the project targets as effectively and efficiently as possible ensuring consistency with project work plans. Throughout his career, Bonaventure has been mainly dealing with research methodology, data analysis and management approaches to produce sound analysis for informative decision making at various levels.. Bonaventure has passion for what he does and believes in empowering other people to grow and change their lives. Developing strong relationships is the foundation of everything he does both professionally and personally. His key to success is through prayer and consistence.

Tricia Gloria Nabaye serves as the Engagement and Advocacy Lead at Pollicy. Tricia’s profession revolves around writing and researching Cyber Policy and Digital Rights in the Great Lakes Region. Her work delves into critical advocacy topics, aiming to engage readers in deeper conversations about how we can improve and innovate to ensure that the digital era benefits the African population.
As a feminist researcher, Tricia has shared her knowledge of leadership, gender issues, women and girl child empowerment, and public policy advocacy.

Arthur is our Data Products lead who is responsible for researching, designing, building, and maintaining innovative data products. He has previously led our social media research projects aimed at accessing the impact of online violence against women politicians. Arthur also oversees everything that goes out through our digital channels. He is in charge of boosting our online presence by integrating social media, search engine optimization techniques and blogging into our brand’s identity.

Wilson is our design lead who handles the graphics and all the tasks related to design. In his entire design life, Wilson says he had never thought about dealing with data scientists and didn’t even know the term existed. “After a thorough introduction to data artistry, data visualization, and information design, I was intrigued. Pollicy has enhanced my data design life and I feel honored to be the Design Lead here” adds Wilson.

Angela is Pollicy’s Communications Coordinator who brings a wealth of experience in strategic communications, planning and advocacy to her role. She has proven history reporting for high-authority publications, with wide-ranging experience leading both digital and corporate communications in development and multicultural settings. Angela is a passionate advocate for gender equality, with a particular focus on combating Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), and promoting digital inclusion in underserved communities. Her work includes spearheading digital campaigns, strategic storytelling, and executing targeted outreach initiatives.

Timothy is our Design Assistant specializing in audio-visual production with a background in graphic design and a knack for conceptualizing and executing projects from inception to delivery. He thrives in transforming ideas into immersive multimedia experiences that engage and inspire. “My creative process is based on passion, great imagination, design problem solutions, customer satisfaction and eye-catching design” adds Timothy.

Doreen, our Administration and Operations Assistant is a committed digital feminist with a strong interest in exploring how technology affects marginalized communities, Doreen endeavors to bring a positive and collaborative mindset to her administrative work. Her experience as an administrative assistant has refined her ability to efficiently manage tasks while excelling in building connections and fostering cooperation among team members, regardless of their work location. Her adaptability, proactive approach to supporting others, and innate sensitivity allow her to thrive in dynamic environments.
