Pollicy seeks to hire a Program Coordinator to support its Future of Work program. As a program coordinator, you will leverage your extensive experience in program and project management to support the planning, execution, and evaluation of the program in Mozambique and Southern Africa with the media fraternity, specifically Legacy and alternate media professionals. You will work closely with the Programs Department to engage key stakeholders and communities to ensure the program is strategically aligned with their needs and effectively implemented.

About the Role:
Pollicy seeks to hire a Program Coordinator to support its Future of Work program. As a program coordinator you will leverage your extensive experience in program and project management to support the planning, execution and evaluation of the program in Mozambique and Southern Africa with the media fraternity, specifically Legacy and alternate media professionals. You will work closely with the Programs Department to engage key stakeholders and communities to ensure the program is strategically aligned with their needs and effectively implemented.

Key Roles and Responsibilities.

  1. Utilize your proven expertise in program and project design to conceptualize initiatives that align with the organization's projects, mission and objectives.
  2. Lead the end-to-end management of programs, from initial planning and resource allocation to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
  3. Apply your in-depth knowledge of project management methodologies to ensure that programs are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality
    standards while following Pollicy’s manual and guidelines.
  4. Promote Pollicy’s image and Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including government bodies, NGOs, community leaders, and partner organizations, to enhance collaboration.
  5. Leverage your analytical skills to identify potential risks and develop strategies for mitigation, ensuring seamless program execution.
  6. Utilize your experience in designing monitoring and evaluation frameworks to measure program outcomes and make data-driven improvements.
  7. Actively participate in organizing events (Meetings/workshops/training, etc.) in Mozambique and countries/regions as required with media groups.
  8. Showcase your exceptional communication skills by preparing comprehensive progress reports and delivering presentations to both internal and external audiences
  9. Draw upon your expertise in capacity building to empower target community members through training and knowledge sharing.
  10. Navigate the unique cultural context of Mozambique to ensure the program’s cultural sensitivity and relevance.
  11. Contribute to advocacy efforts and represent the program in relevant local and national forums.
  12. Support the planning, execution and evaluation of the program in Mozambique and Southern Africa with the media fraternity, specifically Legacy and alternate media professionals

Desired Competencies, Experience and Skill Requirements

  1. A minimum of 4 years of experience working with media partners in supporting the design and management of projects, particularly focused on engaging in
    feminist digital rights initiatives within Mozambique and the Southern Africa region.
  2. Have a native level proficiency in Portuguese language and be able to clearly relay ideas in Portuguese and English both written and verbal capacities
  3. Familiarity with digital communication and collaborative work platforms and tools including email, slack, google meet, google drive, Zoom etc
  4. Experience in supporting the delivery of large multi-country projects
  5. Substantial experience working with remote teams.

Hiring details:

We work remotely and have a physical presence and office in Kampala, Uganda. This position is fully remote starting in September 2023.
