Event

African Women in Tech Policy

summary

Pollicy is pleased to invite you to a virtual event as part of our monthly Feminist Technology Movement series aimed at engaging more women’s rights and feminist voices in digital and data governance. In our previous sessions, we have held discussions on a gender and ethics perspective on artificial intelligence (AI) in Africa. In this session, we will be bringing together a group of women who are working in tech policy to speak to the audience about their career journey, tips and advice on how other aspirants may join the tech governance space. Pollicy has put together this list to join the already ongoing conversation on why we need more African women and girls in tech policy and how to achieve progressive women-centred tech policies in Africa.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting as a panelist. We will also share a brief question guide we will be using as part of the conversation. We would like to emphasize that this is a conversation about your personal tech journey, and we will not be asking or fielding any questions regarding the company/organization or any other body that you may be affiliated with.
