Despite being an activity that we all partake in, hopefully daily, we can be quite uncomfortable discussing waste management. Yet, we know that inadequate access to sanitation remains a major threat to development in sub-Saharan Africa with an estimated loss of around US$177 million per year to the Uganda economy due to premature death, illness, reduced productivity and loss of time.
